KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Precinct 4 Constable Chad Jones died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack while on duty.
“Today we have lost one of our finest Constables for Kaufman County,” stated Precinct 2 Constable Jason Johnson. “Constable Chad Jones was a professional, hard working, dedicated elected official, and cared for this county without pause.”
Jones was at the Kaufman County Courthouse when he suffered the heart attack, was transported to Kaufman Presbyterian Hospital, and later transported to a Dallas-area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Jones was first elected as Precinct 4 Constable in 2016 and had previously worked with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office.
“We ask that you please keep his family, friends, and staff in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic time,” stated Precinct 3 Constable Keith Stephens.
He is survived by his wife and children.
