Kaufman County Republican Executive committee met on August 7, 2023 at the Kaufman County Library in Kaufman.
The meeting was scheduled for 7:00pm but was delayed by 20 minutes. Chairman Jody Deller was in the parking lot presumably calling members who were not present. There was a critical vote on the Paxton impeachment scheduled for that evening and Deller didnt have the votes to vote it down. Once the meeting was called to order, Deller called on Keith Bell for a legislative update in which he filibustered for 40 minutes to give Deller’s people time to arrive. Those who showed up late were Raymond Shackleford, Stewart McGregor and Sandra Vatsis-Taylor. (Note below that these were dissenting votes)
Pam Reid (Pct. 32 Chairwoman) presented a resolution condemning the illegal impeachment of Paxton by the Texas House of Representatives.
Prior to the vote, Chairman Jody Deller spoke against the resolution.
Larry Vrzalik (Pct 22 Chairman) spoke in favor of the resolution.
By a vote of 12-10 the resolution was rejected.
Those voting AGAINST the resolution were:
Pct 36 – Sandra Vatsis-Taylor (arrived 7:40)
Those voting IN FAVOR of the resolution were:
Pct 35 – Daryl Coleman
NOT in attendance:
The meeting was adjourned after all business was concluded.
NOTE: The stance of the Kaufman County Conservatives is that we believe in the Presumption of Innocence. All people are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. General Paxton was impeached illegally by the Texas House of Representatives with no evidence presented and was not allowed to defend himself. Rep. Keith Bell voted in favor of the impeachment which seems to have violated the Texas Constitution. Paxton was removed from his position as Attorney General after being easily reelected in November 2022 with 53.4% of the vote by the people. As Attorney General of Texas, he has been relentless in defending our state against the corrupt Biden regime. He’s filed over 50 lawsuits with a win rate at almost 80%. While you might not care for AG Paxton on a personal level, he is protected by the same laws as you and I. It could be you or your loved ones next. Who’s going to protect you?
If you dislike how your elected officials have voted, please let them know.
Paxton trial begins in the Texas Senate on September 5, 2023.
